

Kate McCutcheon
Assistant Band Director - CHS9
Mrs. McCutcheon is a born Texas native and holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Associates in the Arts from Valencia College in Orlando FL. While at SFA, she preformed the Lumberjack Marching Band, the University Bands, and the Orchestra of the Pines. While she was there she studied with the Dr. Christina Guenther, Dr. David Campo, and Dr. Gene Moon. She is currently on her 7th year of teaching.
In the summers of 2009 and 2010, Mrs. McCutcheon served as a Drum Major for the 10-time World Championship Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Under her leadership the corps placed 3rd in 2009 and 5th in 2010 at DCI World Championship Finals.
When she is not teaching you can find her and her husband out plane spotting at DFW Airport. She has also been an employee for the
Walt Disney World Company, serving as a head lifeguard for both Disney's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
Mrs. McCutcheon's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. She is also a current member of the Dallas Asian Wind Ensemble where she enjoys her continued love for the Flute.

Mrs. McCutcheon and her husband Greg, love camping and all things outdoors!
